Diary | Hello 2015!

Happy New Year everyone! It's amazing how time flies, a lot has happened in the past year and I'm glad for everything I have received and learnt in the past year. I'm actually really excited for this year, it's going to be my last year of high school, I would be lying if I said I haven't been freaking out about that but in another light, high school is a place where you're stuck between being yourself and being what others want you to be. I've grown a lot in the past four years (better eyebrows for sure) but this fifth and final year of high school, I'm hoping to cherish all the memories made whether they were good or bad and finally release the part of me that kept bringing me down; letting loose and being realistically happy.
Saying this year was a roller coaster ride would be an understatement; with friends, family, fashion, food, everything. It was a big year of firsts and a bigger year of lasts. I'm thankful to leave a less mature me behind and be a part of bigger and better things to come my way. I finally know that you need to seize any opportunity you can get to be your truer happier self, therefore my only resolution for this year is to be happy.

Sydney Siege

The Sydney Siege has been going on for more then 11 hours, thats 11 hours of an unknown number of people being held hostage at the Lindt Chocolate Cafe in the heart of Sydney's CBD. I was reading over some tweets under "#SydneySiege" and the impact of this incident will be forever-lasting.

"It is worth remembering that most boat people are fleeing the same extremists we are fighting in the Middle East" (via)

"Americans saying this would have never happened if citizens had guns: you morons. Guess how many school shootings we have? " (via)

"Hostage Crises with innocent people 100m away you say? Why not take a selfie to remember this day?" #NoFaithInHumanity Please take a good look at yourself, not with your camera.

There have been tweets on how we should all "destroy Islam and save humanity". It's been 13 years since 9/11 and the fact that people still believe that killing a race is the solution to this problem clearly shows how narrow-minded some folks are, the treatment of Muslims as a whole is probably what had emboldened terrorists because of the horrific torture faced by innocent people. Islam is not the cause of this, it may be hatred coming from individual and/or smaller groups that are acting in extreme measures but to blame what has been happening across the Globe on a religion is just morally wrong. Religions do not represent such violence, there is no need to slander one's Religion because it differs from yours and this is coming from a non-Islam.

After a group of Muslim women had been attacked on public transport, the trend "#illridewithyou" on Twitter became worldwide showing how the Siege that would have provoked the worst in the us had instead inspired the best of us.

All of my thoughts to those held hostage and those effected by this incident, it's been more then 11 hours since the Sydney Siege and it's hard to even imagine how exhausted and frayed those held in hostage are. One can only pray for their safety and the hope that this encourages peace among us and other countries involved.

Muse | Music December '14

So I thought I would just spam you lovelies with some of the music I've been jamming out to this summer, it sounds so good to finally say that: s-u-m-m-e-r. Clearly I've had some free time on me:
